Submission Guide

    1.0 Guide for Paper Submission


    Zauren Waƙa welcomes original and unpublished scholarly articles, poems, critical essays, and book reviews related to Hausa poetry, literature, and broader cultural expressions. Submissions must not have been previously published in print or digital formats, nor be under consideration elsewhere.

    1.1 Acceptable Languages


    Submissions are accepted in Hausa, English, Arabic, and French.


    1.2 Formatting and Arrangement


    1.2.1 Structure


    Full-length research articles should generally include the following sections:


    a. Abstract

    b. Keywords

    c. Introduction

    d. Methodology/Data

    e. Results and Discussion

    f. Conclusion

    g. References

      

    Creative and critical submissions (e.g., poems, essays, reviews) should follow appropriate literary or critical conventions as guided by academic or creative standards.


    1.2.2 Page Format



    1.2.3 Title


    Titles should be concise and informative, not exceeding 20 words, unless longer titles are contextually justified.


    1.2.4 Author Information


    • Include the full name(s) and institutional affiliation(s) of each author beneath the title.
    • Provide the email address and phone number of the corresponding author only.


    1.2.5 Abstract


    Every manuscript must be accompanied by an abstract of approximately 200 words, summarizing the objectives, methodology, and main findings. The abstract should be in single-spaced, single-paragraph format.


    1.2.6 Keywords


    Include at least three (3) keywords immediately after the abstract.


    1.2.7 Citations and References


    • All references and in-text citations should follow the current APA style.
    • Use footnotes (not endnotes) where applicable.
    • Footnotes must be inserted and numbered automatically using a word processor.


    2.0 Review Policy


    All submissions to Zauren Waƙa undergo a double-step peer review process:


    1. Initial editorial screening for scope, relevance, and formatting.
    2. Blind peer review by at least two qualified reviewers.


    3.0 Plagiarism Policy


    Zauren Waƙa maintains a Zero Tolerance Policy on Plagiarism. All submitted work must be original and plagiarism-free. Authors are strongly encouraged to check their work using reliable plagiarism detection tools before submission.


    4.0 Publication Fees


    For authors paying in Nigerian Naira:


    • ₦5,000 - Review Fee
    • ₦24,000 - Processing and Publication Fee


    For international authors (or authors paying in USD):


    • $10 - Review Fee
    • $50 - Processing and Publication Fee


    Waivers or discounts may be granted at the discretion of the Editorial Board in special cases.
