Zauren Waƙa follows a two-phase review process to ensure scholarly rigor and editorial quality:
A. Blind Peer Review (External Review)
Upon submission, each article is assigned to a qualified external reviewer (an expert in the relevant field) for an anonymous (blind) peer review.
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript's originality, relevance, scholarly merit,
and contribution to Hausa poetry and related fields. Authors will receive
feedback, along with a decision and instructions for revision (if necessary),
based on the reviewer’s recommendations.
B. Internal Review (Editorial Processing)
Once an article is accepted
following external review, the author will be asked to revise and resubmit
the manuscript in line with the reviewer’s comments.
After receiving the updated manuscript, the Editorial Team conducts an
internal review focused on:
- Grammatical and stylistic accuracy
- Formatting and typesetting consistency
Editors may correct language issues
and adjust formatting as needed to meet the journal’s publication standards.
Important:
After internal editing, manuscripts are not returned to authors for further
revision. Authors will, however, receive galley proofs before final
publication. It is the author's responsibility to carefully review the galley
proof and notify the Editorial Team immediately if any edits made during
internal processing raise concerns or require correction.
